드디어 마지막 단원입니다. 생각보다 길어지면서 지루해지는 부분도 발견이 되고 해석본에 그치는 내용에 아쉬운 마음이 듭니다. 조금 더 콘텐츠에 대해 생각해보는 시간도 가졌으며 다른 식의 접근 방법이 필요하다고 생각이 들어요.

아직 초보 블로거이니 나아질 거라 생각합니다.

I tried to ignore them.

나는 그 아이들을 못 본채 했었지.

Really, you mean you never noticed me?

정말이야? 나를 단 한 번도 알아채지 못했단 말이야?

I don't remember seeing you there.

당신을 거기서 본 기억이 없어요.

Well, you'll just have to take my word for it(believe me, I'm telling you the truth).

흠, 내 말을 믿어 진실이니까.

So what happened? how did you two meet?

그래서 무슨 일이 있었어요?  두 분이 어떻게 만나신 거예요?

I'm all ears.(listening carefully)

집중해서 듣고 있어요.

Well, it was a short while after we graduated from high school.

글쎄, 고등학교를 졸업하고 얼마 후였을거야.

One night I went to the pizza place with my best friend, Cindy.

어느 날 밤 내 절친 신디랑 피자 가게에 갔었지.

We came in, ordered our pizza, and sat

우리는 가게로 들어갔고, 피자를 주문하고, 자리에 앉았단다.

down.

I was there to pick up a pizza for my mom, but it wasn't ready yet.

나는 어머님께 드릴 피자를 픽업하기 위해 그곳에 있었지, 하지만 아직 준비가 되어있지 않았었단다.

I was so surprised to see your grandma there.

나는 너의 할머니를 그곳에서 보게 되어 매우 놀랐었단다.

The waiter brought the pizza, and I noticed it was not the pepperoni pizza I had ordered.

종업원이 피자를 가져다주었단다, 그리고 내가 주문한 페퍼로니 피자가 아닌 것을 알게 되었지.

So I went to the counter with it.

그래서 피자를 들고 카운터로 갔지.

Long story short(to get to the point), your grandma had been given my mother's pizza.

간단히 말하자면, 우리 어머니의 피자가 할머니에게 간 거였지.

The man called me to the counter when he realized his mistake.

종업원이 자신의 실수를 깨닫고는 나를 카운터로 불렀단다.

I finally had the chance to talk to your Grandmother.

마침내 너의 할머니에게 말할 기회를 갖게 된 거지.

You two fell in love because of a pizza? Did I get that right(Did I understand correctly)?

할아버지 할머니가 사랑에 빠지게 된 게 피자 때문인 거예요? 제가 이해한 게 맞나요??

Well, not right away.

글쎄, 곧바로는 아니었지.

I think I gave him the evil eye(looked at him in an unpleasant way) at first.

내가 처음에는 네 할아버지를 불편하게 쳐다보았었지.

I thought he had mixed up the pizzas on purpose(intentionally), to try to talk to me.

네 할아버지가 나에게 말 걸어보기 위해서 일부러 피자를 바꿔갔다고 생각했거든.

And I said: "Nice try!"(It was not a nice thing to do)

그리고 말했지 : "시도는 좋았네요!"

No there must be some confusion, I am telling you(believe me!).

뭔가 혼동이 있었나봐요, 믿어주세요.

I'm afraid you've got it all wrong!(you have completely misunderstood!)

완전히 오해하고 있어요!

It's my mistake sorry for the confusion, I'll fix that right away.

내 실수예요 혼동을 주어 죄송합니다. 바로 다시 해드릴게요.

Oh I see, it's okay then. I hope you can accept my apologies.

아.. 그랬군요, 그렇다면 괜찮아요. 내 사과를 받아주었으면 좋겠네요.

Don't worry, No hard feelings(I'm not upset).

걱정 마세요, 아무렇지 않아요.

I'd like to make it up to you.

당신에게 만회를 하고 싶은데요.

Would you like to join us for dinner? The more the merrier(it is more fun with more people).

저녁식사에 같이 참여하실래요? 사람이 많으면 더 즐거운 법이니까요.

I didn't tell them the pizza was supposed to be for my mother, so I accepted.

나는 그녀들에게 그 피자가 나의 어머니의 것이라는 것을 말하진 않았단다, 그래서 승낙하였지.

And then you fell in love?

그러고 나서 두 분이 사랑에 빠지신 거예요?

Yes, we did! Take it from me(I can assure you), Samantha, It's worth waiting for the right person.

그렇단다, 믿어도 좋단다, 사만다, 너에게 맞는 사람을 기다리는 것은 그만한 가치가 있는 일이란다.

For me, it was like it was meant to be!(destined to take place) 

나에게 있어서는, 마치 운명인 것 같았어!

You took the words right out of my mouth.(You said exactly waht I meant to say)

내가 하려던 말을 해줬군요.

 

이렇게 해석하면 안 됩니다. : )

 

 

 

That night turned into something magical.

그날 밤은 마법 같은 것으로 변했단다.

My friend Cindy had to leave early, so your grandpa offered to drive me home.

내 친구 신디는 일찍 자리를 떠야 했었지, 그래서 네 할아버니가 집에까지 차로 데려다 주기로 했었단다.

I had forgotten about getting a pizza for my mother.

나는 어머님께 드릴 피자도 까마득히 잊고 말았지.

It had completely slipped my mind(I forgot to do it).

그냥 완전히 잊고 말았어.

All I could think about was your Grandmother.

내가 생각할 수 있던 것은 오로지 네 할머니에 대한 것들 뿐이었지.

I was head over heels (very much in love) in love with her.

나는 완전히 네 할머니에게 빠져있었단다.

We drove around talking for hours!

우리는 한 시간을 얘기하며 드라이브를 하였단다!

I knew, from that moment on, I was going to marry your Grandmother.

그 당시 그 순간 나는 알 수 있었어, 네 할머니와 결혼하게 될 거라는 것을.

As far as I was concerned(In my opinion), your grandpa was the most wonderful man in the world!

내 개인적으로는, 네 할아버지가 이 세상에서 가장 멋진 남자란다!

You still seem to be in love with each other after all these years.

그렇게 오랜 시간이 지나갔는데 두 분 여전히 사랑에 빠져있으신 것 같아요.

You bet(of course) we are!

당연하지!

We love and respect each other.

우리는 사랑하고 서로를 존중하지.

Sometimes we get on each other's nerves(annoy a lot),

때때로 우리는 서로를 거슬리게 만들 때도 있지만,

But we never hold a grudge against (continue to be angry) each other.

단 한 번도 서로에게 감정이 상한 상태를 길게 끌고 가지 않았단다.

We get over it.(stop being upset)

우리는 늘 풀었고.

We talk things out (discuss something completely in order to find a solution) and let it go.(stop being angry)

문제를 해결하기 위해 대화를 하고 해소하였지.

And last but not least(important, despite being mentioned at the end), we enjoy spending time together no

그리고 마지막이지만 중요한 것은, 우리는 무슨 일이 있든 함께 하는 시간을 즐겼단다.
